Play begins with each player grabbing a player board. This board tracks everything the player needs during the game.
Once the board is setup and a first player is chosen, play begins with a turn of 3 phases. Each player places their people on the board, then players perform the actions where each of their people are located and finally feed their people.
Placing people on the board marks the actions you plan to do during the turn. Some actions are limited to how many people may perform the same action in a turn. Some locations may only allow one person to perform the action on the turn.
After placing people, each player will perform actions based on turn order for each of their markers (people) on the board. You can do actions in any order. Resources gained during actions can affect the outcome of actions you perform later.
Actions can be a number of things. Constructing tools will give you bonus die rolls, you can use the hut to create a new people character, spend people to roll to acquire resources (wood, brick, stone or gold), purchase civilization cards will produce an immediate yield and points during final scoring, and finally, build buildings for immediate victory points via their collected resources.
Feeding your people simply involves using your food and resources if necessary. Not feeding your people will cost you victory points.
Play continues until you’ve run out of civilization cards or at least one building stack is empty. In either case, play proceeds to final scoring.
Final scoring adds points you’ve accumulated during play, points from the green-backed civilization cards and points from sand-colored backgrounds civilization cards.
Stone Age is a well-balanced game of resource management and civilization building. The game has a simple, fluid design that makes it easy for anyone to start playing. There’s not one winning strategy for play.

Each age has its special challenges. The stone age was shaped by the emergence of agriculture, the processing of useful resources, and by the building of simple huts. Trade begins and grows and civilization takes root and spreads. In addition, traditional abilities like skillful hunting are in demand, in order to be able to nourish the growing population.
The goal of the players is to master all these challenges. There are many ways to do so, so everyone can work to achieve his goal in his own way. Find your own way and learn at the end whether it was the best way.
